GSHC are european champions

Geneva-Servette Hockey are the European Champions after beating the Swedish team Skelleftea 3-2 last night.

It’s the first time since the Champions Hockey League was resumed ten years ago the cup has been won by a team that’s not Swedish or Finnish.

A huge crowd in Geneva celebrated the win last night. 7,000 in the stadium in Les Vernets and 5,000 outside at a fan zone watching on a big screen.

Celebrations continued into the night as authorities had already announced the bars will be able to stay open later if Servette took the title.
