The government followed a fairly new tradition yesterday and held a formal meeting of the Federal Council outside Bern.
The idea is to better connect with the people. The external meetings started only in 2010 and there are about 4 a year. So far this year the council, has visited Schaffhausen, Ticino and Geneva.
Yesterday, the council took two army super puma helicopters to Graubünden and held a meeting at the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Monastery of St. Johann.
The president, Ignazio Cassis, is placing particular importance on the meetings as he is from Ticino he wants to visit the peripheral areas of the country.
