Germany lifts rules for cross-border shopping

Mattes

In another sign of life beginning to return to normal – Germany has loosened rules on entering the country.

With immediate effect, Swiss shoppers will be allowed into Germany.

The country has lifted restrictions for visits of less than 24 hours. No test or quarantine is needed – nor a good reason to cross into Germany for a brief visit.

But lifting is good for Switzerland too as Germans who live near the border can now enter without worrying about restrictions on their return.
There are some German states Switzerland considers risk areas which will require quarantine – but they don’t border this country.
