A ten-year-old Swiss murder case is due to be featured on a German TV tonight with the hopes it may reinvigorate the investigation.

In 2014 the body of a 36-year-old sex worker, Emilia Emilova was found in Lake Lucerne in canton Nidwalden.

She was last seen alive on the streets of Lucerne.

The Nidwalden Criminal Investigation Department is reopening the case and readying a team in the hope the TV show will deliver new leads.

The show ‘Aktenzeichen XY’ has an almost legendary status in Germany and has been credited for solving many cases over its 58-year history.

And tonight - after 20 years of being off the screens – it will be shown again on Swiss TV.

This case will be featured to mark its return.
