A small group of women poignantly highlighted yesterday evening the issue of femicides.
Over the course of this year 26 women have been killed by men who were close to them.
At the protest on the Place Bel-Air in Geneva, the names of those who died were read out and written with chalk on the sidewalk.
The list started with a 97-year-old who died in January and ended with the latest – a 47-year-old this month.
The youngest was a 12-year-old.
The protestors are calling on authorities to do more to counter domestic violence and keep more accurate records.
