Geneva welcomes the new rules

With the federal Covid restrictions being lifted, the Geneva state councillor, Mauro Poggia, says he’s delighted – but then cautions we still need to be careful. Only a fool will think it’s over, he says.

He says he would have preferred the mask requirement to stay in shops or at work, but he also said he understands the weariness and the public desire to get rid of it.

The cantonal economic minister, Fabienne Fischer says she's happy businesses can get back to full opening as many have suffered during the restrictions.

She says the Geneva economy has held up well, thanks to the government support and now there can be a focus on those projects that have been slowed down by the pandemic.
