Parental leave could be available to all family types in Geneva. A campaign by the Liberal Green Party has collected enough signatures for the issue to go to a vote.
Currently parental leave is not available to gay, adoptive or foster families.
The text of the cantonal initiative requires the government to allow at least 24 weeks – split between both parents.
