Geneva urging more 12-15 year olds to get jabbed

With the number of hospitalizations on the rise – Geneva is launching a campaign to get more children vaccinated.

The two jabs being used in Switzerland have been cleared for those over 12 years old.

The latest Federal figures show that under 8% of those aged between 12 and 15 have been fully vaccinated.

In Geneva, the Cantonal Health Department is pointing out the benefits. Anyone fully vaccinated doesn’t have to isolate if they come into contact with an infected person -so can stay in school - and will have a better social life.

The average age of those in hospital is getting lower – those aged between 40 and 59 make up the bulk of those in care – and 9 out of ten of them are not vaccinated.
