Geneva rock festival is no more

The long running music festival, Vernier sur Rock is no more. Organizers have dissolved the association that’s been putting on the event for the last 40 years.

Although it had been impacted by covid restrictions – there were hopes it may be able to continue. But those behind the festival say they simply couldn’t afford the rising costs.

In 2018 they had subsidies worth CHF 70,000 cut which has contributed to the decision.

Officials in Vernier say they are looking on how to support some of the activities that have emerged from the annual rock festival.
