Geneva researchers in cancer breakthrough

Researchers at the University of Geneva say they’ve made an important discovery on how genes can affect the progression of cancer.

The scientists point out that the disease develops within a complex system of tissue and cells. It’s been long known that genetics can influence the rate of spread.

Now two particular genes have been isolated which show when a patient has a high expression of them, the disease is slowed.

Now work will start on how to turn the finding into a treatment.
