Geneva ready for hundreds of refugees

solidaritéukraine.ch

Around 300 Ukrainian refugees are expected in Geneva this week.

40 arrived this weekend alone.

A welcome centre has been set up by the Hospice Général on the route de Meyrin. New arrivals are directed to shelters, either hotels, private homes or a centre. Translators are available.

Those wishing to help are being asked to contact the canton and not make private donations. One private collection centre in the Jonction area has been closed and volunteers are now working with the canton.

For those wanting to help, there’s a website set up by Geneva – solidaritéUkraine.ch , or a toll free number – 0800 900 995.
