Geneva city employees are pushing back against proposed budget cuts.
About 300 workers rallied outside City Hall yesterday evening as the City Council met, protesting a plan to freeze salary increases and leave dozens of vacant positions unfilled.
Unions say the cuts - meant to save more than CHF 8m - would worsen already heavy workloads.
Geneva faces a CHF 70m deficit, but staff argue savings shouldn’t come from their paychecks.
