A Geneva national parliamentarian is pushing for a sweeping cut to red tape.
Geneva Citizens Movement member, Roger Golay, will present plans this week to create a regulatory review body aimed at scrapping outdated laws. Federal legislation has grown by more than 60 percent since 2000.
Supporters say the move would boost efficiency, but critics argue existing tools already allow parliament to reduce bureaucracy.
Similar proposals have repeatedly failed in the past, showing it’s easier to pass a law than to repeal one.
