Geneva pensioners could ride TPG for free

Public transport could soon become completely free for retirees and those on disability allowance in Geneva.

The City Council has approved a motion to grant them a subsidy of 200 francs per year toward the purchase of a TPG season ticket.

Since the beginning of the year, these groups already benefit from half-price subscriptions, paying 200 francs annually.

If confirmed, the subsidy would cover the remaining cost, allowing retirees and people on disability insurance to ride for free.

The proposal now awaits a decision from the Administrative Council.
