The Geneva Natural History Museum will close at the end of the year for a year.

Major renovation is planned throughout 2024.

Many exhibits have already been dismantled or moved – including its most famous resident, Janus, the two headed turtle who’s now at the Bioparc in Genthod.

Curators will also be spending the time fixing up and repairing exhibits – especially the stuffed animals.

The museum also points out that its scientific work will also continue during the closure.

The museum will reopen early 2025.
