Geneva diplomats hit by Havana Syndrome

US Mission Geneva - wikipedia

It’s emerged diplomats in Geneva have also been affected by the so-called Havana syndrome.

Staff complain of nausea, dizziness and headaches. It was first reported in Cuba – where it got the name.

US security forces have been trying to identify the problem for the last several years. It’s thought it may be caused by high intensity electronic devices. Countries suspected of being involved are Cuba, Russia and China.

Similar incidents have also been reported in China, which also affected staff from the British, Austrian and Serbian diplomatic offices.

In Geneva, staff at the US mission were affected last summer – one so severely they had to be airlifted back to the United States.
