Geneva and Basel in the running for 69th Eurovision

The SSR officially announced that the two Swiss cities in the running for the 2025 Eurovision are Geneva and Basel.

The proposals put forward by Zurich and Bern have been rejected.

The SSR announced on its website on Friday that the winner of the two finalists will be decided at the end of August. They say it was the enthusiasm of Geneva and Basel that was decisive in choosing the two cities as front-runners for the event.

Geneva authorities have committed to releasing CHF 30 million to organize the event, which would be held at Palexpo.

In Basel, no figure has yet been announced, but it would take place at the Halle St-Jacques, if selected.

It will be the 69th Eurovision contest.
