Fuss over name of new hockey stadium

The Eagle's Nest (now called in German, Kehlsteinhaus)

The Geneva Grand Council is questioning the wisdom of naming the new stadium for the Geneva Servette Hockey Club as the ‘Eagle’s Nest’.

That was the name given to the mountain top retreat in Germany where Hitler and other senior Nazis went on vacation.

Many councillors suggest it’s not suitable for a family entertainment venue.

But the symbol of the club is an eagle and the design of the stadium has a wooden structure at the top which is reminiscent of a nest.

It’s the name the architects have given the project.
