French strikes will hit Geneva

Much of France is on strike today – and the effects will be noticeable in Geneva.

The Léman express will be unaffected -but some TGV services have been cancelled.

Other local cross border routes will also be affected.

There are warnings that some tracks or stations could be hit by sabotage. The French rain company, SNCF, says it has identified some key points and is working with the police.

Air France is on strike and other flights to France may be face cancelations or delays. But air traffic controllers have called off their strike for the time being, as they acknowledge there’s not a current French government.

There are also worries truck drivers may block autoroute toll gates.

If you do make it to Paris today, many metro lines will be hit and large demonstrations in the city are expected.
