A French driver was caught speeding on the A40 autoroute close to the Geneva border – and he came up with a fantastic excuse for why he was in a rush.
Police clocked him at 159 kph in a 110 zone.
The speeding man told the police he was racing to get to the sup-prefecture in Bonneville on time as he had to hand in his driving licence as it was suspended for speeding.
Just to show the man had not learned his lesson, the original offence was at exactly the same spot he was caught the second time.
