The Geneva based Russian diplomat, who dramatically resigned a few days ago in protest at the war in Ukraine, says he’s grateful to Switzerland for providing security for him and his family.
Speaking to the Tribune de Genève, Boris Bondarev, is now stuck in his Geneva home for safety reasons.
He confirmed the Russian Mission in Geneva is an integral part of Moscow’s social media campaign.
He challenged a former colleague about a Tweet sent out from Geneva, but says he was told that's their job – and they have to do it.
Bondarev says he suspects many others in the mission are also sceptical about Moscow’s recent decisions.
He told the paper he doesn’t know what he’ll do now – but he would like to work to make the world a better place.
