A hotline for victims of domestic abuse is finally going to be launched, after 15 years of delays.
The number, 142, will go live on May 1st, offering anonymous support and guidance for victims and their families.
Authorities say the rollout was slowed by legal and technical hurdles, but the need is urgent: 34 people died in domestic violence cases last year, a sharp rise.
Backers say anonymity is key, giving victims a safer first step to seek help without immediately involving police.
Each canton will handle calls locally once the service is up and running.
