EXIT doesn't want new suicide rules

The assisted suicide organisation, EXIT, says it doesn’t want any further regulation and says existing laws are sufficient.

The recent, illegal, use of a so-called suicide capsule has prompted politicians to call for new rules. 

At a congress in Zurich over the weekend, the current situation was discussed - some wanted the rules to be amended to allow the use of the capsule – others wanted it specifically banned. 

There are actually no real laws surrounding assisted suicide, the practice is governed by precedent. 

The head of EXIT, Marion Schafroth, says additional laws are unnecessary and it’s going well in this country.
