Diners get a front row seat of wolf attack

A group of diners on the terrace at a café in the border town of Saint Gingolph got a front row seat to witness the brutality of nature when they saw a wolf attack a goat in a field.

One of the customers says it was all over in less than a minute. He says he heard the goat bells ring as the flock panicked when the wolf arrived.

The predator singled one out and grabbed it by the neck. The shepherd managed to scare it away, but the goat was so severely injured, it had to be euthanized.

There were around 20 people on the terrace – including families with children.

The attack was last weekend and the authorities have issued a permit allowing the wolf to be shot if it approaches livestock again.
