The council of Crans-Montana says it will not resign despite growing pressure following the New Year's night club fire that killed 40 and injured more than 100.
At an extraordinary public meeting attended by around six hundred residents, Mayor Nicolas Féraud apologised again to victims and their families but insisted the municipal executive must remain in office to face the consequences and oversee reforms.
Residents raised concerns about safety, transparency and ongoing investigations, while officials outlined new fire safety inspections and plans for a permanent memorial to the victims.
