A Geneva school which was closed following a Covid outbreak will not now reopen until after the holidays.

The De-Livron primary school in Meyrin was initially ordered to shut for a week and all 340 pupils and staff were sent home.

Now the Cantonal Health Department says the school says it will stay shut.

For other primary schools in the canton, attendance is currently optional due to the pandemic. The Education Department estimate 44% of primary age children were not in school yesterday.

Geneva schools start Christmas holidays on Thursday.
