Court rejects freedom request for suspected ISIS member

Federal Court, Lausanne

The Federal Court has denied a suspected ISIS supporter his appeal to be released from pre-trial detention.

The 28 year old is being charged with producing extremist propaganda material and making plans to travel to ISIS controlled areas.

Prosecutors successfully argued the man was a flight risk. Despite having a family and a permanent job, it wasn’t stopping him from wanting to leave the country at the time of his arrest.

Judges say there’s no danger of him being detained too long.

The suspect already has a criminal record for violating anti-terrorist laws.
