The courts have backed Geneva's move to ban kids who live in France from attending schools in the canton.
The decision has been upheld by the Constitutional Chamber of the Court of Justice.
In a ruling dated February 3rd and made public this week, judges rejected twelve appeals from students living in France.
They challenged the new rules that prevent non-residents from enrolling or continuing their studies in Geneva.
The court says the State Council acted lawfully, citing school capacity pressures and budget constraints.
The decision can still be appealed to the Federal Court.
