This year’s Fête de la Musique in Geneva will be jam packed with events ranging from classical concerts, new bands, dance and film.
Over three days there’ll be nearly 600 different shows.
Organizers say they were overwhelmed with requests to be part of the festival. More than 1,000 artists and bands asked to be a part – a rise of 11% on the previous year.
One focus will be female composers – who’s work has “lived too long in the shadow of male careers”, say the organisers.
The festival in the city will run from Friday 23rd through Sunday 25th.
Other communes in Geneva will also be holding their own celebrations – including Carouge, Bernex and Versoix.
