Cinema attendance drops a quarter

Despite a few bright spots, we’re not going to the movies as much as we were.

The latest figures from the Federal Statistics Office show the number heading for the big screen last year was 9 and a half million - that’s down a quarter on the numbers before the pre-covid era. 

But there were a few films which dragged us out. Zootopia 2 was the most watched, followed by Avatar, Lilo and Stitch and the Brad Pitt film F1.
