The Swiss president, Ignazio Cassis, will be attending Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in London on Monday.
He’ll be joining around 500 other senior leaders from all around the world.
Cassis met the Queen earlier this year while on a trade mission to the UK. After her death, he expressed his sympathies and called her a ‘compass’ who gave everyone a sense of direction in a confusing world.
Queen Elizabeth visited Switzerland on a state visit in 1980. While the monarch rarely visited the country, it is a favourite for other members of the British royal family - and has been for years.
After her husband’s death in 1868, Queen Victoria stayed for 5 weeks, painting the landscapes.
