The City of Carouge has banned bicycles, e-bikes, and electric scooters in part of Old-Carouge.

The new rule, in force since October 13, applies to the pedestrian zones of Saint-Joseph and Place du Marché.

The one-year trial aims to improve safety and coexistence in these busy streets after reports of risky behavior.

For now, municipal police are focusing on prevention, but from November 3, offenders risk fines of 30 francs - or 100 for motor vehicles.
