Caritas raises CHF 35m for Ukraine

The Swiss charity, Caritas, says it has raised CHF 35m for Ukraine since the start of the war.

Presenting its latest update, the charity described harsh conditions for staff in Kyiv, including office temperatures of just seven degrees and repeated power cuts.

Civilian casualties rose 31 percent in 2025, with 2,500 killed and 12,000 wounded.

Caritas estimates 12.7 million people, one in three Ukrainians, will need humanitarian aid this year.

The organisation says it is combining emergency relief with projects aimed at restoring livelihoods and long-term resilience.
