Car crashes into Geneva restaurant

A restaurant owner in Geneva is relieved there were no serious injuries after a car crashed through the window.

According to witnesses, a car was traveling at high speed on the Boulevard Carl-Vogt, it hit a scooter and swerved into an Indian restaurant.

Fortunately, there were no customers at the time, but two members of staff were slightly injured.

Firefighters had to cut the car to remove the driver, reported to be a woman in her thirties. She and the scooter rider were taken to hospital with light injuries, say the police.

The restaurant owner told the press that it was not the first time. In January a car came off the road, but hit an electric junction box, narrowly missing the window.

Police are investigating.
