Cable car price rise shocks

While the renovation of the Salève cable car is being hailed a success – many are shocked at the steep price rise of the ticket.

The lift was closed for two years to allow for a complete redevelopment, including a new panoramic restaurant, an exhibition space and a mountain climbing wall.

Although the restaurant isn’t open yet – a search for an operating company is still going on.

But it’s the ticket to ride prices which is causing consternation. Before the closure, a return was EUR 11.90, now it’s EUR 18. A rise of over 50% - but for those who just want one way, the climb is even steeper – at EUR 13, an increase of 69%.
