The government will be discussing today if some restrictions can be lifted, but at a press conference yesterday the Federal Health Office warned that only one of the five criteria to ease has been met.
The number in intensive care must be under 250, that is the case – but for the others it’s remains too high, according to Virginie Masserey from the Health Office.
The incidence rate over the past 14 days should be less than 220, but it’s at 296. There are more than 45 hospitalizations a week and the reproduction rate is at 1.14 – it needs to be under 1.
But the government is under pressure from businesses and the people to lift. More politicians from across the spectrum are also calling for more flexibility.
There should be an announcement later this afternoon.
