Bars and restaurants want faster opening

The hospitality sector is very disappointed with the latest announcement from the government.

The only hope they have is for allowing terraces from April – it’s felt that’s not enough.

The head of Gastrosuisse, the industry association, Casimir Platzer says it’s unlawful discrimination and there’s already a third wave of permanent closures and layoffs.

Other owners say they’re upset the government seems to be showing no sympathy for the plight of the industry. Antony Castrilli from the Professional Association of Restaurateurs says the government only talks about numbers and shows no empathy while people are on the verge of bankruptcy.
