The army is still losing too many weapons - despite an effort 10 years ago to keep better track of them.
Last year 79 complete weapons were lost - mainly assault rifles. That's up significantly from the previous year when 49 rifles were lost.
The army says many were taken after a series of burglaries - mainly in French speaking areas.
4 rifles have been listed as buried after the rockfall in the village of Blatten.
Those who lose their issued guns can face serious consequences - ranging from large fines to imprisonment.
But if a weapon is stolen while it is being stored properly, the owner will escape punishment.
