Anti-mask wearing parents have been fined more than two thousand francs after they refused to send their son to school with a mask when the rules stated everyone in schools should have been wearing one.

The mother says her son couldn’t breathe properly with a mask – but were unable to get a medical exemption from their doctor.

The father blames the school and says it was more interested in power games.

The judge in Bergdorf in canton Bern rejected the parent’s arguments and fined each CHF 1,300 after the boy missed almost 500 lessons.

The parents say they may appeal.
