A man is in custody in Geneva after being caught with cocaine worth around a million francs at the border in Veyrier.

The arrest was in July, but details have jus been released as police were trying to track down other members of the smuggling ring.

Police say the man is refusing to give details about anyone else involved as he says he fears for the safety of his family.

The man had travelled from Madrid with 6 and half kilos of the drug and says his final destination was Zurich. But an address in Plainpalais in Geneva was also found in his car.

He remains in prison while investigations are carried out. He faces several years behind bars.
