35k march for Pride in Geneva

35,000 marched in Geneva on Saturday in the Pride March, united in fighting for equal rights and the total banning of conversion therapies.

Although a proposed federal law is in parliament which would ban the practice – the Council of States has yet to vote - the lower house has already voted in favour.

But cantons are acting on their own – so far only Neuchatel has a ban in place – but Jura, Vaud and Geneva are close behind.

One marcher told the Tribune de Geneve that many so called ‘doctors’ who carry out the therapies are flocking to Switzerland, exploiting the law.

The procession was fun and friendly. Many came from all over the country and across Europe to take part.
