A British teenager, who was skiing in Graubunden with her father, has died after she fell down a steep slope in the resort of Laax and crashed into a rock. The 13-year-old died on the spot.
The tragedy happened on Monday afternoon. The girl was skiing off-piste with her father when she fell.
Emergency services from the resort as well as a team from the Swiss air rescue service Rega quickly arrived on the scene but sadly were unable to save the girl who was declared dead on the slopes.
The teenager’s family are being supported by counsellors.
The cantonal police of Graubünden has launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
