1000's of Zalando customers could be blocked

Thousands of customers of the online retailer Zalando have been blocked without warning.

The German based firm brought in a policy this month to cut off customers who return too many items – it affects nearly 11,000 people.

Zalando hasn’t released country breakdowns – but it’s thought Swiss customers will be hit badly as this country has a reputation for being high returners. A study by the courier service DPD show 28% percent of packages are sent back – compared to a European average of 14%.

The retailer says the new policy will only affect a small percentage of its customers.
