Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky has named Switzerland as a possible venue for a face-to-face meeting with Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine.
In an open letter on Thursday evening, Zelensky proposed Switzerland, Turkey or an Arab country, and said Kyiv is ready for a full ceasefire during talks.
US President Donald Trump welcomed the idea, saying both sides would need to compromise.
The Kremlin has not yet responded to the letter but said Zelensky could come to Moscow at any time, an option the Ukrainian leader rejects.
Putin still insists any meeting must come only after a peace deal has been fully negotiated by his teams.
