Women have a greater risk of dying from a heart attack than men.
The study by the University of Basel and the University Hospital of Basel studied the details of 42,000 cardiac arrest patients.
They found that 42% of women died, compared to 36% of men.
The study found women were less likely to receive emergency intensive care and were less likely to get invasive treatments.
The study’s authors suggest the reason maybe women have slightly different symptoms for a heart attack than men with some socio-cultural factors.
