WEF meeting kicks off Sunday

WEF

After a two-year pandemic enforced break – the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting will start on Sunday at its traditional venue, Davos.

It’s expected over 50 heads of state and government will attend. The founder of the Forum, Klaus Schwab, says the meeting will be the first to bring together global leaders in a new emerging multipolar world as a result of the pandemic and war.

The German chancellor, Olaf Scholz, will attend – the first time as German leader. As will the head of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg.

Russia will not be represented – but there will be a large contingent from Ukraine which will include government members, parliamentarians and business leaders. It’s expected the president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy will address the meeting virtually.
