The iconic Swiss chocolate bar, Toblerone, will not be so iconically Swiss next year.
The parent company, based in Chicago, says it will start producing Toberones at its plant in Slovakia – although the Swiss factory, just outside Bern, will also continue to make them as it has for more than 100 years.
The company, Mondelez, is reassuring about the Swiss factory. It says it will remain an important part of history and there are plans for further investment.
Toblerone has been sold since 1908.
