TikTok video forces canton to take notice

A TikTok video is forcing canton Bern to take action.

A father in the village of Lemiswil posted security camera footage of his 6-year-old son waiting patiently at a pedestrian crossing for cars to stop for him. But none did.

He first showed the video to the commune – but they say there’s nothing they can do as the road is managed by the canton.

Now the video has clocked up thousands of views – the canton is taking notice.

Reto Bühler from canton Bern’s traffic department says the safety of the crossing will be examined.

The father says he’s surprised the video has had such a strong reaction.
