Farmers in Ticino dumped the carcasses of around ten sheep outside the government building in Bellinzona – the cantonal capital.
They say the animals were killed by wolves and want the canton to bring in more effective measures to control the wild animals.
The famers say the sheep were attacked in the Maggia Valley near Locarno. The cantonal Office for Hunting and Fishing says it’s not yet clear what killed the animals.
But it is known that several sheep were attacked by wolves in the Rovana Valley at the end of March.
