Switzerland is following the EU and has sanctioned the former Ukrainian president, Viktor Yanukovych and his son Olkesandr.
It’s believed the former president was involved with the initial stages of the Ukrainian war while his son runs businesses in the Donbass region.
Switzerland is following the EU sanctions on a case-by-case basis.
Funds linked to Yanukovych have already been frozen after he was forced out of office in 2014. There are now moves to confiscate around CHF 100m to return to the Ukrainian authorities.
